Pool Warranty
Container Pool Warranty
Effective Date: April 2026 · Outback Fencing & Steel Supplies (ABN 76 674 671 820)
Outback Fencing & Steel Supplies is committed to providing high-quality container pool solutions. This warranty outlines the coverage, terms, and conditions applicable to all container pools sold by Outback Fencing & Steel Supplies.
Our container pools are purpose-built, container-style above-ground pools constructed with a welded steel frame, composite exterior cladding, and a fibreglass interior. They are not repurposed or upcycled shipping containers.
1. Warranty Coverage
1.1 Structural Steel Frame — 10 Years
We warrant that the welded steel structural frame of your container pool will be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of ten (10) years from the date of installation, under normal use and proper maintenance.
This warranty covers structural frame failures including:
- Welding failures or separations
- Excessive buckling or warping that affects pool integrity
- Frame collapse or structural deformation
- Corrosion due to manufacturing defects (excludes normal surface oxidation on exposed steel edges)
1.2 Fibreglass Shell — 10 Years
The fibreglass interior shell is warranted for a period of ten (10) years from the date of installation against:
- Water leakage due to manufacturing defects
- Structural cracking or delamination
- Blistering or peeling of the gel coat under normal use
- Manufacturing defects affecting water retention
1.3 Composite Exterior Cladding — 5 Years
The composite exterior cladding panels are warranted for a period of five (5) years from the date of installation against:
- Warping or buckling due to manufacturing defects
- Delamination or separation from the steel frame
- Cracking or splitting not caused by impact or misuse
Please note: Composite cladding is designed to be weather-resistant and UV stabilised, however minor colour fading over time due to prolonged sun exposure is considered normal wear and tear and is not covered under this warranty.
1.4 Composite Decking — 5 Years
The composite timber-look decking surround is warranted for a period of five (5) years from the date of installation against:
- Warping or buckling due to manufacturing defects
- Structural cracking or splitting not caused by impact
- Delamination or surface peeling under normal use
Minor colour variation and gradual fading of composite decking due to UV exposure is considered normal wear and tear and is not covered.
1.5 Equipment & Accessories — 12 Months
Pool equipment and accessories (pumps, filters, lights, fittings) are covered for twelve (12) months from the date of installation against manufacturing defects and operational failures not caused by misuse.
Some equipment may carry the manufacturer's own warranty period which may differ from this timeframe. Where applicable, manufacturer warranties will be honoured in accordance with their terms.
2. Design Approval & Colour Variations
2.1 Custom Design Process
Every container pool is custom manufactured to your specification. Prior to manufacturing, you will be provided with digital mockup renders showing the proposed colour scheme, layout, and key design features. Manufacturing only proceeds once you have reviewed and approved the design.
2.2 Colour Variations
Digital mockup renders are provided as an indicative guide to the overall colour scheme and design layout. Minor variations between the digital render and the finished product are not considered a defect. Differences in shade, tone, or texture may occur due to:
- Manufacturing processes and material properties
- Screen display settings and calibration differences
- Lighting conditions (renders vs. natural outdoor light)
- Batch-to-batch variation in composite materials
Approval of a digital mockup constitutes acceptance of the general colour scheme and design. Claims based solely on minor colour variation between a digital render and the delivered product are not covered under this warranty or under the design approval process.
2.3 Material Accuracy
Our product descriptions and sales materials accurately describe the construction of our pools: steel frame, composite exterior cladding, fibreglass interior, and composite decking. If you have any questions about materials or construction, please ask prior to placing your order.
3. Remedy Hierarchy — No Refunds Policy
Our Repair-First Approach: Outback Fencing & Steel Supplies does not offer refunds on container pools. If a genuine defect covered under this warranty occurs, we will address it through the following hierarchy:
Step 1: Repair (Primary Remedy)
- We will first attempt to repair any defect caused by manufacturing faults
- Repairs may require custom parts sourced from China, which can result in delays of several weeks to several months
- We will keep you informed of estimated timelines throughout the repair process
- Labour costs for warranty-approved repairs will be covered
Step 2: Replacement (Critical Failures Only)
- Replacement will only be considered for critical structural failures due to manufacturing defects where repair is not feasible
- Replacement is NOT available for damage caused by customer use, installation, or maintenance issues
- Replacement Timeline: Up to 6 months due to manufacturing and shipping from China
- Condition: The original damaged pool must be returned to us for inspection and disposal
- We will coordinate the removal of the defective unit and installation of the replacement
Step 3: Refund (Last Resort — Australian Consumer Law Only)
- Refunds are only provided where required by Australian Consumer Law for major failures where repair and replacement have failed or are not possible within a reasonable time
- Any refund consideration will be assessed on a case-by-case basis in accordance with ACL requirements
Important: Customers should be prepared for extended wait times when custom parts or replacement pools are required. All remedies are subject to verification that the issue is caused by a manufacturing defect.

11. Australian Consumer Law
This warranty is in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law (ACL). Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the ACL.
Under the ACL, you are entitled to:
- A replacement or refund for a major failure
- Compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage
- Have the goods repaired or replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure
What is a Major Failure?
A major failure occurs when:
- The goods have a problem that would have stopped someone from buying them if they had known about it
- The goods are significantly different from the description or sample
- The goods are substantially unfit for their normal purpose and cannot easily be fixed within a reasonable time
- The goods do not do what you asked for and cannot easily be fixed within a reasonable time
- The goods are unsafe
While we do not offer refunds as a standard remedy, we acknowledge that in cases of major failure under the ACL where repair and replacement have failed or cannot be completed within a reasonable time, you may be entitled to a refund. Any such situations will be assessed in accordance with ACL requirements.
Reasonable Time: Given that our products are custom-manufactured overseas, timeframes of up to 6 months for replacement are considered reasonable. However, if delays extend beyond this or if multiple repair attempts fail, ACL remedies including potential refund may apply.
12. Warranty Transferability
This warranty provides guarantees under Australian Consumer Law that automatically transfer with the goods if the pool is sold. However, the specific warranty benefits and timeframes outlined in this document apply only to the original purchaser at the original installation site.
If the pool is relocated to a new site, warranty coverage for installation-related issues will not apply, though manufacturing defect coverage continues subject to the original warranty periods.
