Our custom-made 165cm Outback Bitumen Pickets are manufactured to a heavier gauge steel profile that most modern pickets have moved away from. Why These Are Different

Most steel pickets sold today have been progressively made lighter and thinner to cut costs. Our Outback Pickets go the other way — they're custom manufactured to a traditional heavy-duty profile at 2.1 kg/m, making them noticeably heavier and more rigid than standard pickets on the market.

Made from virgin low carbon steel — not recycled scrap — which means consistent quality, better strength, and a cleaner finish. The low carbon composition is what gives these pickets the property farmers actually want: they bend under extreme pressure instead of snapping. A picket that snaps is a picket you're replacing. A picket that bends can be straightened and stays in the ground. These have been through the bend test with experienced fencers across the region and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.

And unlike most "bitumen" pickets that are just sprayed or painted black, our pickets are genuinely dipped in bitumen. Full immersion coating means every surface, edge, and hole is properly sealed — giving you significantly better corrosion protection that lasts years longer than a surface paint job.
